SDA evacuates street vendors from Sonamarg | KNO

Sonamarg, Jan 22 (KNO): In a coordinated effort to ensure the orderly development and safety of the Sonamarg area, over one hundred street vendors were evacuated from the region on Wednesday. The operation, carried out with the support of the Sonamarg Police and the Revenue Department, aimed to enforce regulations and maintain a conducive environment for tourism and development activities, an official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The vendors had been occupying unauthorized spaces, on Srinagar Leh National Highway and meadow area, he said. The Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) has emphasized the importance of adhering to zoning laws to promote organized growth and to enhance the overall experience for visitors and locals alike. A representative from the Sonamarg Development Authority stated, “This action is part of our ongoing efforts to manage Sonamarg's growth sustainably, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a regulated and safe environment.”—(KNO)
