Jammu, Sep 07 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) candidate for Budhal Assembly constituency Javed Iqbal Choudhary has refused to accept the security cover for him until the security of the party's campaigner in the constituency Baji Mian Muhammad Aslam is restored. He alleged that Baji Aslam’s security has been withdrawn on the behest of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). In a letter written to the Returning Officer (RO) of Budhal-86 Assembly constituency, the copy of which is with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Javed Choudhary alleged that Baji Aslam had joined NC on August 22 and he is a protected person since 1999. “Before joining NC, Baji Aslam was being forced to join the BJP and he was being threatened with removal of security cover. Once he joined NC, his security was withdrawn on the directions of BJP and he has been left vulnerable to the threats of militants,” the NC candidate wrote to RO. Choudhary alleged that he has taken up the matter with district administration Rajouri, DIG Rajouri and SSP Rajouri but nothing concrete was done and Baji Aslam’s security wasn’t given back. “If anything adverse happens to Baji Mian Muhammad Aslam and other persons, for whom security has been demanded, the district police Rajouri and district election authorities will be responsible,” he said. “Until the restoration of pre ante security cover of Baji Mian Muhammad Aslam, deployment of additional security with him during the election period and security arrangement of my other main campaigners. I can’t accept security cover for myself,” the NC candidate added—(KNO)
