Body retrieved from Jhelum at Srinagar’s Basant Bagh | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 12 (KNO): The body of a man was retrieved from the river Jhelum near Basant Bagh area of Gowkadal in Srinagar on Sunday evening, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a swift operation and fished out the dead body from the river. He said that soon after receiving information about a man’s body floating in the river, the Quick Response Team of SDRF along with River Police rushed to the spot and retrieved it from the water. The deceased was identified as Hayat Gulzar, son of Gulzar Ahmad Badyari, resident of Basant Bagh near Gowkadal, Srinagar, he said. Meanwhile, the body was handed over to local residents for further necessary formalities, the official added.—(KNO)
