­Two educators from Kashmir selected for National Awards in Education | KNO

Budgam, Jan 03 (KNO): Two educators from Kashmir Valley have been selected for National Awards in Education, to be conferred during the National School Leadership Conference (NSLC) in New Delhi. The event, organised by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), is scheduled from January 8 to 10, 2025. According to the news agency – Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the teachers to be awarded are Rehana Qussar (Master) Head of institution Government Boys Middle School Yarikalan in zone Chadoora Budgam and Javed Ahmad Banday Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Beerwah. Speaking to KNO, Rehana Qussar called for adhering to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and guidelines from the National Centre for School Leadership. "Government schools can match private institutions if NEP is implemented sincerely," she said. "This recognition is not just personal but a testament to the potential of government schools when we implement policies like NEP 2020 with sincerity and dedication. Government schools are no less than private institutions if we utilize our resources effectively and focus on innovative teaching methods," she said. Rehana added, "School leaders who embrace the guidelines of the National Centre for School Leadership and prioritise the holistic development of students will undoubtedly achieve success. With teamwork, commitment, and a shared vision, we can transform our schools into centres of excellence and provide our students with the quality education they deserve." Qussar, the head of the institution, Government Boys Middle School Yarikalan in Chadoora, will present the presentation on a case study under the theme "Pedagogical Leadership for Enhancing Student Learning Competencies". Meanwhile, Javed Ahmad Banday, Principal of Boys Higher Secondary School Beerwah, will present his presentation on his case study under the theme "Leading Good Governance in Schools"—(KNO)
