Ganderbal, Jun 21 (KNO): Sonamarg Police on Sunday said they have traced and returned a gold bangle lost by a tourist at Zero Point, following a prompt search and verification process.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that following sustained efforts and investigation, the police identified the rightful owner and verified her claim as the legitimate owner. “By the time the process was completed, the tourist had already reached Srinagar Airport,” he said.
He added that a police team, along with local guide Ashfaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat of Hayan Kangan, rushed to Srinagar Airport and handed over the recovered gold bangle to the tourist S.R. Kumawat before her departure.
“The tourist expressed gratitude to Sonamarg Police for their swift action and honesty. The operation was carried out under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal,” he said.
Meanwhile, locals and tourism stakeholders appreciated the efforts of Sonamarg Police for their commitment to assisting tourists and maintaining a safe, tourist-friendly environment in the region.—(KNO)
