Property of notorious peddler attached in Budgam: Police | KNO

Budgam, Nov 21 (KNO): In a decisive action against the drug menace, Police in Budgam on Friday said to have attached immovable property worth approximately Rs 45 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Beerwah. “The attached property, a single-storey residential house at Sadipora Beerwah belongs to Tanveer Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Yousuf Ganie, who is involved in FIR Nos. 02/2022, 13/2023 and 65/2024 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Beerwah,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Investigation revealed that the accused had acquired the said property through proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking. Following due legal process and based on concrete evidence, the property has been formally seized and attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, police said. It reads that this action reflects J&K Police’s sustained efforts and zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. The general public is urged to share any information regarding drug peddling and support efforts to build a drug-free society—(KNO)
