Srinagar, April 22 (KNO): Home Minister Amit Shah will shortly arrive in Srinagar ro hold an emergency meeting with security agencies following a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam today afternoon.
In a post on X, Amit Shah, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) also condemned the terror attack, stating that he is anguished by the attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
“My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared, and we will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences,” he said.
He added that he also briefed PM Modi about the incident. “Briefed PM Modi about the incident and held a meeting with the concerned officials via video conferencing. Will shortly leave for Srinagar to hold an urgent security review meeting with all the agencies,” he said.
Earlier, sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Saudi Arabia, spoke with Home Minister Amit Shah over phone on the Pahalgam terror attack. PM asked Amit Shah to take all suitable measures, and also visit the attack site, they said.
