IGP Kashmir chairs orientation programme of probationary DySsP | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNO): An introductory programme of Probationary DySsP of 2023 batch was conducted in PCR Kashmir, today. The programme was attended by IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, Range DIsG, JDP ZPHQ, SSP Srinagar, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, SP PC Srinagar and virtually by district SSsP of Kashmir Zone. During the inaugural session, DySP probationer Ishwar Dev briefed the officers regarding the batch strength, composition and training done so far. IGP Kashmir welcomed the probationers and acknowledged their commitment and honor of joining the police force, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). IGP Kashmir outlined the core values and mission of the J&K Police stressing the importance of integrity, fairness and accountability in all police actions. The officers were also briefed upon the ethical standards and expectations of their behaviour. They were advised on the aspects of professionalism, impartiality and respect for all regardless of race or ethnicity. The officers were also briefed with regard to acquiring investigative skills, operational skills, criminal laws, use of IT, adherence to police rules and procedures and importance of documentation and reporting, which are crucial for legal and departmental accountability. Range DIsG also briefed the officers with regard to acquiring technical skills and soft skills which will help them grow professionally. JDP ZPHQ also briefed the participants with regard to investigative procedures especially related to NDPS to secure conviction in drug related cases. SSP Srinagar/PCR Kashmir and other officers also briefed the participants with regard to building positive relationships with the public in their effort to prevent crime and solve critical problems and challenges arising during the course of their service. The district SSsP were directed by the chair to take periodic assessment and feedback from the officers during their period of probation and take keen interest during their on-the-job training. The session concluded with the cumulative resolve by all the probationary officers to be responsible, dedicated and committed to serving and protecting the nation. The orientation programme instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in the new officers, ensuring they are well equipped, trained and motivated to serve in J&K Police—(KNO)
