Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned several major projects exclusively for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under national tourism development schemes, the Lok Sabha was informed.
According to official documents accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), multiple projects have been approved under the Swadesh Darshan, Swadesh Darshan 2.0, PRASHAD and Challenge-Based Destination Development schemes that are aimed at boosting sustainable, pilgrimage and greenfield tourism in the region.
Jammu and Kashmir Projects under the Swadesh Darshan scheme has received multiple sanctions for the ‘Himalayan areas’ covering Jammu, Srinagar, Pahalgam, Bhagwati Nagar, Anantnag, Salamabad, Uri, Kargil and Leh with an approved cost of Rs 77.33 crore followed by Jammu, Rajouri, Shopian and Pulwama districts with Rs 81.60 crore and restoration of assets damaged in the 2014 floods under PMDP Rs 90.43 crore—(KNO)
