Theft case solved in Sgr, 2 arrested: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 11 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar on Monday said to have solved a theft case by arresting 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession. “On 07-11-2024, Police Station Shalteng received a complaint from one individual namely Shabaz Geelani son of Anwar Geelani resident of Tawheed Abad Maloora stating therein that on 06-11-2024 some unknown burglars have entered his residential house at Tawheed Abad Maloora and have stolen copper utensils, cash, mobile phone etc,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Subsequently, police said that a case under FIR number 84/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Shalteng and investigation was initiated. “Upon receipt of this information, police constituted a special team under the supervision of SHO PS Shalteng to identify the accused persons involved in the commission of crime. During the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical input, two accused persons identified as Shahid Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Hamid Bhat and Aqib Ahmad Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi resident of Maloora were found to be involved in the commission of crime. Both the accused persons have been arrested and upon their disclosure, stolen property was recovered from their possession,” police said. Meanwhile, the general public appreciated the efforts of police for cracking and solving the case. Police urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activities in their neighbourhood. “Cooperation from the community is crucial in maintaining safety and security across the district,” police said—(KNO)
