Srinagar, Nov 09 (KNO): In a significant move against the drug trade, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag on Saturday said to have attached a residential house and a shop valued at Rs 50 lakhs, belonging to a notorious drug peddler. The action was taken under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). A police spokesman said that a one-storey residential house and a shop valued at Rs 50 lakhs, belonging to a notorious drug peddler Shabroz Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Rehman Wani resident of Nowgam Poshkeeri, Srigufwara was attached. “The attached properties are believed to be proceeds of crime, earned through Wani’s illicit drug trafficking activities. He has been a prominent figure in the local narcotics trade, linked to substantial seizures of contraband substances, including SpasmoProxyvon and Codeine Phosphate,” police said.
