Qazigund, Jan 28 (KNO): A Sub-Division office of the Power Development Department in the Qazigund area is facing a space crunch due to which consumers are suffering and the services are hit.
The office is currently operating in a single storey having four temporary rooms.
Consumers told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that shortage of space has affected the services as the staff is not able to work properly due to which the office remains crowded.
“I have come here from the far flung Kund area of Kulgam but my work is not done for the third consecutive day,” said Ghulam Ali Khan, a local saying the office remains crowded.
“Instead of Rs 24,000, my electricity bill got printed at Rs 25,000 due to which I was not able to pay my bills in time”, another local said.
Locals requested higher ups to look into the matter and either shift the office to any building or construct a new building.
Assistant Executive Engineer PDD Qazigund Mohammad Yousuf told KNO they have written to higher ups for more space. “Land is available here for the office, but it has been occupied by other departments due to which there is a space shortage. Hopefully the issue will be sorted out soon,” he added—(KNO)
