Poonch, June 14 (KNO): Security forces on Monday arrested two narcotic peddlers on Mughal road in Surankote area recovering poppy husk (fhukki) from their possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police and army was on routine naka checking on Mughal Road when a truck PB13BF 0385 was signaled to stop.
The truck was put to thorough frisking when a consignment of three kilograms of Poppy Husk was found kept hidden in the vehicle which was recovered.
The accused have been identified as truck driver Dilbagh Singh son of Hazara Singh resident of Bhomia Mandala, Amritsar Punjab and Balwinder Singh son of Sham Singh resident of Tungballa Majithard, Amritsar Punjab.
The recovered contraband along with truck was seized on spot and a case FIR No. 224/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused persons in police station Surankote.
Pertinent to mention here that a notorious narcotics peddler was also arrested in Mendhar on Sunday recovering 950 grams of Charas like substance from his possession with many arrests have been made in recent past in the district—(KNO)
