Month on, ADC Handwara post lying vacant

Handwara, Dec 02 (KNO): The key post of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in Handwara has been lying vacant for over a month, causing significant inconvenience to the locals, who appealed to the government to fill the vacant seat at the earliest. Residents, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) expressed their frustration over the prolonged absence of the key post, citing delays in administrative processes and essential services. “It’s very unfortunate that the ADC chair has been vacant for so long. We have been suffering,” Touseef Ahmed, a local resident said while highlighting the difficulties faced by the community. The absence of the ADC has reportedly disrupted various administrative works, including the issuance of important certificates and the resolution of grievances. “We are suffering due to the absence of the official from last month. The lack of administrative official at the ADC office has left many of our issues unaddressed,” another resident lamented. The locals have urged the government to intervene and fill the vacant post without further delay. “We request the authorities to take immediate action and appoint an ADC to ensure smooth functioning of the administration in Handwara,” the social activist Sheikh Jamsheed appealed. Notably, Aziz Ahmad Rather, JKAS, who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara was transferred on November 06 and posted as Additional Secretary in the Chief Minister's Secretariat—(KNO)
