Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNO): Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday called on Jammu and Kashmir government to clarify its position on Article 370 after a resolution passed in the recent assembly session. Mufti, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) criticized the government and Congress for what she described as an 'ambiguous' approach on Article 370 stating that the recent resolution passed in the J&K aseembly 'lacked' clarity. Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of her visit in district Budgam, Mehbooba expressed dissatisfaction with the resolution, stating that it failed to address the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. "The government, with its 50-member majority, should have raised its voice clearly and unequivocally condemned the events of 2019. Instead, the resolution seemed like a surrender, leaving the public with more questions than answers," she said. She added that the resolution was not clear and that it seemed like there was hesitation or embarrassment when Article 370 was discussed. She also took aim at Congress, alleging that the party was distancing itself from the issue by asserting that the resolution focused solely on Statehood, not Article 370. "They said the resolution was for statehood, not Article 370, which raises many questions in people's minds," she added. She stated that such an approach has sparked widespread apprehensions among the people and called on the government to clearly state its stance on the matter—(KNO)
