Srinagar, Aug 21 (KNO): Registrations for the Kashmir Marathon 2024 are going in full swing with authorities going to close it soon.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the organizers have urged potential participants to complete their registration by the deadline to ensure their place in the marathon. The event is open to a range of categories, including full marathon and half marathon, catering to both seasoned athletes and recreational runners.
Registration can be completed online through the official Kashmir Marathon website, where participants can also find detailed information about the event, including race routes, start times, and accommodation options.
The marathon is expected to draw a diverse crowd, from local enthusiasts to international competitors, eager to experience the unique blend of challenge and beauty that the Kashmir region offers.
The event will see runners of all levels take to the scenic routes of Kashmir, showcasing the region’s stunning landscapes and vibrant spirit.
The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has already announced significant cash prizes for the winners of the upcoming Kashmir Marathon.
Both the Men's and Women's categories in the full marathon will see the first-place winners awarded ₹25 lakh each. The second-place finishers will receive ₹20 lakh, while ₹18 lakh, ₹15 lakh, and ₹12 lakh will be awarded to the third, fourth, and fifth-place finishers, respectively.
For participants in the half marathon, the cash prizes are also substantial. The first-place winners will be awarded ₹15 lakh, with ₹12 lakh going to the second-place finishers. The third, fourth, and fifth-place runners will receive ₹9 lakh, ₹6 lakh, and ₹3 lakh, respectively.
First of its kind, Kashmir Marathon2024 is all set to be held on October 20.
Officials said they have witnessed an immense response regarding the marathon as registrations have come in large numbers for the event.
“We have already got a good number of registrations for the marathon. We are expecting further increase in the registration. The registration will close soon. We are all in full mode to hold the event,” said an official—(KNO)
