Srinagar, May 21 (KNO): An IndiGo flight which was travelling from New Delhi to Srinagar faced a mid-air turbulence on Wednesday evening due to bad weather conditions but landed safely at Srinagar International Airport, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that IndiGo flight 6E2142, encountered a hailstorm while en route from Delhi towards Srinagar. He said the pilot immediately reported the emergency situation to the Srinagar Air Traffic Control (ATC), and despite the weather challenge, the flight landed safely at 6:30 pm. “All 227 passengers and the aircrew are safe,” the official said adding following the incident, the aircraft was declared “Aircraft on Ground” (AOG) by the airline, indicating it requires inspection or maintenance before its next flight. Meanwhile, as per a statement, the airport team attended to the customers after arrival of aircraft prioritizing their wellbeing and comfort. The aircraft will be released post necessary inspection and maintenance.”—(KNO)
