Handwara, Feb 03 (KNO): A month after the CT Scan machine at District Hospital Handwara developed a technical snag, patients of several areas in Kupwara continue to suffer as they are forced to travel to other parts of the valley to undergo tests.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) locals said that they have been facing immense difficulties since the CT scan became defunct forcing them to travel to parts.
Mohammad Ismail Mir, a resident of Mawer Handwara said that the CT Scan machine has been defunct for a month now.
“Everyone cannot afford to undergo a test at a private clinic,” he said.
Ishrat, another local whose brother recently underwent a CT Scan test said that in emergency conditions they returned from Handwara Hospital after finding the machine is defunct.
Medical Superintendent acknowledged that the machine is defunct saying that some part that had developed some snag and is being fixed by the engineer.
He stated after rectifying this particular portion, it was seen that the X-ray section of it had also some issues. “The part required is already on the way and it is expected to arrive soon. It may even reach us by this evening and hopefully, the machine will be made functional by tomorrow afternoon,” he said—(KNO)
