Blast like-sound heard near police post in Baramulla, cops suspect grenade attack | KNO

Baramulla, Mar 05 (KNO): A blast-like sound was heard near a police post in the Old Town, Baramulla late last night with cops suspecting it as a grenade attack while no casualty or damage was reported in the incident. In a statement, issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police spokesperson said that during the intervening night of March 4 and 5 a blast-like sound was heard from the backside of police post Old Town, Baramulla. The statement reads that no casualty or damage was reported while police parties immediately cordoned off the area in coordination with sister agencies. “During search, a grenade pin was recovered from rear side of the police post, outside its boundary wall, suggesting it was an attempted grenade attack. The grenade landed and detonated inside the police post. However, no damage or casualties occurred. Impact crater is yet to be located,” it reads. It added that a thorough inquiry has been initiated, and search operations in and around the area are ongoing—(KNO)
