Ahmedabad Plane Crash: PM, HM, J&K LG, CM, Mirwaiz others express shock | KNO

Srinagar, Jun 12 (KNO): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other leaders from the region expressed sadness over the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad in which 242 persons were onboard. Pertinently, an Ahmedabad-London Air India plane carrying 242 passengers and crew crashed into a medical college complex here minutes after takeoff on Thursday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), PM Modi in a post on X, said that he has been in touch with the Ministers and authorities who are working to assist the people affected in the plane crash. “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected,” Narendra Modi wrote. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the disaster response forces have been quickly rushed to the crash site. “Pained beyond words by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Spoke with the Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Home Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and Commissioner of Police Ahmedabad to assess the situation,” Shah wrote. J&K LG Manoj Sinha expressed shock over the plane crash. “Deeply shocked and pained by the flight crash in Ahmedabad. My prayers are with the passengers and their families,” Office of J&K LG, wrote. National Conference (NC) President, Dr Farooq Abdullah and party’s Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. “JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & CM @OmarAbdullah have expressed profound grief over the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Their thoughts and prayers are with the victims and all those affected by this unimaginable tragedy, and they prayed for strength to the bereaved during this difficult time,” JKNC wrote on X. Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sunil Sharma prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. “Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Sharma wrote. MLA Handwara and Peoples Conference (PC) Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone termed the incident heartbreaking. “Heartbreaking. The crash of the Air India aircraft. So many families have lost their loved ones. May they rest in peace,” Lone wrote. Top religious cleric and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Molvi Umar Farooq prayed for the strength and patience of the bereaved. “Deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones. Praying for strength and patience of the bereaved, and a swift recovery for the injured,” Mirwaiz wrote. Apni Party President and former minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari in a post said that this is an unspeakable tragedy. “The plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is heart-breaking. Officials have confirmed that the London-bound flight was carrying 242 people on board, however confirmation regarding the death toll is yet to come. Media reports are citing varying numbers of fatalities. This is an unspeakable tragedy. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace, and may the Almighty grant their loved ones strength, comfort, and patience in this time of immense sorrow,” Altaf Bukhari wrote. CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami expressed shock over the incident. “Deeply shocked by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Thinking of all those who lost their lives. My heart goes out to their families and everyone affected by this tragedy,” he wrote—(KNO)
