Srinagar, Jun 24 (KNO): The maximum temperature has once again jumped to above normal in Kashmir on Monday with the weatherman here predicting generally dry conditions for the next four days. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), all the stations across Jammu and Kashmir except Bhaderwah have recorded below normal temperature today with Srinagar, the summer capital of the Union territory recording 31.2 degree Celsius. As per the details, Qazigund, a gateway of Kashmir, has recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degree Celsius while Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination recorded 27.1 degree Celsius today. In Kupwara and Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort, the mercury settled at 30.4 degree Celsius and 20.5 degree Celsius respectively while Kokernag recorded a maximum temperature of 29.3 degree Celsius. Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a maximum temperature of 41.8 degree Celsius while Banihal and Batote recorded a maximum temperature of 31.4 degree Celsius and 31.3 degree Celsius respectively. In Katra, the mercury settled at 38.7 degree Celsius while Bhaderwah recorded a maximum temperature of 29.7 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, the weatherman here has predicted hot and dry weather conditions and heat wave over plains of Jammu till June 28. Director Meteorological department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that generally dry weather is expected till June 28 while the possibility of light rain and thunder at isolated places can't be ruled out. However, he said that fresh spells of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are at many places from June 29 to June 30. He added that light to moderate rain and thunder is expected at many places on July 1 and 2—(KNO)
