Srinagar, Aug 03 (KNO): Former National Conference (NC) MLA, Kafil-ul-Rehman is set to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Kafil-ul-Rehman, who previously served three terms as an MLA, was denied a party ticket for 2024 Assembly elections. The decision followed NC’s poor performance in Karnah Assembly segment during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the party finished third behind the Awami Ittehad Party and the Peoples Conference. In 2024 Assembly polls, NC fielded Javaid Ahmad Mirchal from Karnah, who secured victory by defeating Peoples Conference candidate Dr. Naseer Ahmad Awan with a margin of 6,262 votes. Javaid Mirchal was associated with Altaf Bukhari-led Apni Party when he joined NC—(KNO)
