COVID-19: 235 fresh positive cases reported, tally at 139,228 | KNO

No death reported in last 24 hours ; Active cases increase to 2,110; recovery rate decreases to 96.85 per cent

Srinagar, Mar 29 (KNO): The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 235 fresh positive cases were reported on Monday pushing the number of active cases near 2,110 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before. No death was reported in J&K in last 24 hours, however, active cases continues to increase and recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 235 fresh positive cases reported on Monday pushed the tally of positive cases to 130,228. Of the exact number of 130,287 cases, 77,453 are from Kashmir and 52,775 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 235 new cases, 184 belong to Kashmir division while as 51 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 77,453 including 74,631 recoveries and 1,254 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,775 including 51,498 recoveries and 735 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,110 including 1,568 from Kashmir division and 542 from Jammu division. With 126 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 126,129 which is 96.85 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 99 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 18 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 51 from Jammu division include 19 from Jammu, 03 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 16 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 28,753 positive cases including 470 deaths and 28,753 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,739 including 178 deaths and 8,286 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,163 including 7,886 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,975 including 5,814 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,792 including 97 deaths and 5,637 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,157 including 5,036 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,753 cases including 4,666 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,704 including 4,645 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,773 including 2,702 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,645 including 2,584 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 25,808 including 25,017 recoveries and 381 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,345 including 4,273 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,891 including 3,826 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,455 including 3,383 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,299 including 3,222 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,857 including 2,802 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,756 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,542 including 2,501 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Poonch, 2,157 including 2,115 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,665 including 1,642 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin 1,488,288 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 27,254 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2,110 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 1,340,490 persons have completed surveillance period and 116,445 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,980,072 samples are available. Out of 5,980,072 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,849,844 while as 130,288 have tested positive, among them 2,110 persons are active, 126,129 persons have recovered and 1,989 persons have died—(KNO)
