New Delhi: Taking a dig at Kashmiri separatist leadership, India’s former Intelligence Chief Amar Singh Dulat Wednesday said: “separatist leaders in Kashmir are confused and they don’t know what they want from New Delhi. These leaders have different opinions regarding Kashmir settlement and are not talking to each other,” Dulat told Kashmir based news agency CNS.

“Kashmir needs a break and its needs peace and that peace will come through dialogue. But unfortunately, Kashmiri leaders (separatists) don’t talk to each other and have miserably failed to chalk out a common strategy,” Dulat said.
He said that before New Delhi engages separatist leaders into talks, they should talk to themselves to find out what they want from New Delhi. “It seems these separatist leaders have not been getting green signal from Pakistan and that is why they are not talking to each other,” Dulat said.

“Even Farooq Abdullah has appealed to these separatist leaders to talk and formulate a common program. Professor Abdul Gani Bhat and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq too wants a dialogue but don’t know why they are buying time. Dialogue with New Delhi is only possible when these separatist leaders will talk to themselves,” he said.
