Zephyre Cricket Academy begins free three-day cricket camp in Srinagar | KNO

Srinagar, May 01 (KNO): Zephyre Cricket Academy on Friday commenced a free three-day cricket coaching camp at Har Nambal Cricket Ground, Natipora, Srinagar. The camp, which will continue till May 4, has attracted hundreds of aspiring cricketers across different age groups, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for the sport in the region. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the initiative aims to provide structured training and professional guidance to young players, with a focus on developing core skills such as batting, bowling, fielding and overall match awareness. Eminent Jammu & Kashmir cricketer Samiullah Beigh, former Ranji Trophy captain and BCCI Level-2 certified coach (also certified by the Australian Cricket Board), is leading the camp. Insights on modern techniques, discipline and game temperament were shared, encouraging participants to strive for excellence. “The camp is further enriched by experienced former first-class cricketers Omar Alam, Mehrajuddin Dar and Mani Sharma, who are actively engaging with participants and providing expert guidance,” he said. The spokesperson said training sessions include technical drills, fitness routines and simulated match scenarios designed to ensure holistic player development. The academy has also stressed accessibility by offering the camp free of cost, encouraging wider participation and nurturing grassroots talent. The camp is co-sponsored by Axis Bank, Havells, Zaffron and Fast Bettle, adding institutional support to the grassroots initiative. The camp will conclude on May 4, with Zephyre Cricket Academy reiterating its commitment to strengthening the cricketing ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir—(KNO)
