Vigilance Presents Charge Sheet Against Former Dy. Director Sericulture | KNO

Vigilance Organization Kashmir presented Charge Sheet (Challan) before the Court of Additional Special Judge Anti-corruption Court Srinagar, in Case FIR No. 33/2015 of P/S VOK U/s Sec. 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt. 2006 r/w Section 4-A Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2014 P/S VOK, against accused Abdul Rehman Bhat ( then Dy. Director Sericulture Budgam) S/o Mohammad Abdullah Bhat R/o Noonmai, Yaripora District Kulgam.

In a statement Vigilance said that on 23-07-2015, the accused officer  has demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 12,000/- from one Ali Mohammad Bhat S/o Mohammad Akbar Bhat R/o Atina Beerwah Budgam (Complainant)  as bribe for releasing  of arrears due to him  on account of In-Situ Promotion granted in his favour by the department of Sericulture on 29-05-2015.

During the course of investigation the charges against the above mentioned accused officer were proved on the basis of oral as well as documentary evidences. Subsequently for launching the prosecution against the accused  public servant sanction  was obtained from the competent authority vide order No. 39-GAD(Vig) of 2017 dated 12-07-2017 and accordingly the Charge Sheet (Challan) was produced before the Hon’ble Court under section 173 Cr. PC for the judicial determination
