MVD conducts massive drive against traffic violators in Kangan | KNO

Ganderbal, Apr 06 (KNO): The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) on Monday conducted a major enforcement drive against traffic violators in the Kangan area of Ganderbal district. The drive was led by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ganderbal, during which a large number of vehicles were inspected for compliance with traffic rules and regulations. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that strict action was taken against violators, with several challans issued on the spot. During the checking, authorities focused on offences such as overloading, absence of valid documents, rash and negligent driving, and violation of prescribed safety norms. "The drive was aimed at ensuring strict adherence to traffic regulations and improving road safety," the official said. “Such enforcement measures will continue across the district to deter violations and safeguard the lives of commuters." The department reiterated its commitment to intensifying such drives in the coming days to curb traffic violations and promote responsible driving among the public—(KNO)
