From 14,000-ft Affarwat to Wular Lake, Baramulla witnesses series of Tiranaga rallies | KNO

Baramulla, Aug 13 (KNO): From the high-altitude slopes of Affarwat in Gulmarg to the waters of Wular Lake, Baramulla district witnessed a series of Tiranaga rallies and patriotic activities on Thursday ahead of Independence Day. The programmes, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) were organised as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, youth, local stakeholders and residents. At Affarwat in Gulmarg, situated at an altitude of around 14,000 feet, the Tricolour was unfurled during a special programme ahead of the August 15 celebrations. A pony rally was also organised in Gulmarg, with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla S F Hamid, SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh, CEO Gulmarg Development Authority Tariq Hussain Naik and other officials participating in the event. Speaking on the occasion, the DC Baramulla said the participation of youth and local stakeholders in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign reflected the deep patriotic spirit of Baramulla. “Today’s participation by youth and local stakeholders in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign reflects the deep patriotic spirit of Baramulla. We hope this enthusiasm continues and is channelled towards the development of our UT and the progress of our country,” DC Hamid said. WULAR HOSTS BOAT RALLY Meanwhile, in Sopore, a boat rally was organised on Wular Lake, with ADC Sopore Dr S A Raina leading the event. A large number of people participated in the rally, carrying the Tricolour as boats moved across the waters of the lake. The event witnessed a huge gathering and added to the Independence Day celebrations in the district. The ADC Sopore said the rally was organised to mark the August 15 celebrations and remember the sacrifices of those who lost their lives for the freedom of the country. He also stressed the need to carry forward the values associated with Independence by addressing public issues and serving people with greater commitment—(KNO)
