Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNO): The continuous traffic enforcement drives in Srinagar City and parts of the valley alike have reduced traffic violations across Kashmir, bringing a visible change, said officials. Speaking on the impact of these drives, a senior official from the Srinagar Traffic Department informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that underage driving has been successfully controlled, along with other different traffic violations. “We rarely see minors driving now, and a noticeable change has occurred. I cannot specify a percentage, but residents themselves can confirm the difference,” he said. Additionally, the ongoing efforts by traffic authorities have led to fewer reported violations, contributing to better road discipline in the city, while local residents have also commended the Traffic Department Srinagar. Mudasir Ahmad, a resident of Lal Bazar Srinagar, said earlier traffic violations were common, but now the situation has improved. “We rarely see minors driving, and people are more cautious on the roads, and accidents have also become very low,” he said. Shabir, another local from Rajbagh Srinagar said that the continuous traffic drives have made a big difference. “Frequent traffic checks have made people think twice before violating rules and the roads feel more organized now,” he said. Notably, the traffic police have launched a drive to enforce traffic rules and reduce violations. Since then, the traffic police in Srinagar have conducted multiple drives to enforce traffic rules and curb violation—(KNO)
