During the visit, the Army Chief, as per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), took stock of the ongoing Operation Drishti Mega Cataract Surgery Camp at the Forward Surgical Centre (FSC), Tangdhar. The COAS also interacted with veterans and ex-servicemen and took note of their welfare and healthcare-related concerns during his visit to the forward area. Pertinently, the seven-day initiative, being conducted under the aegis of Chinar Corps in coordination with the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), aims to provide advanced ophthalmic care to civilians and veterans residing in remote border areas. The camp, which has identified 400 patients for cataract surgery through screening camps, is part of the Indian Army’s healthcare outreach under Operation Sadbhavana.—(KNO)
