Budgam, Oct 09 (KNO): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar Singh on Friday paid obeisance at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) at Charar-i-Sharief and prayed for peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to reporters the IGP Kashmir as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “I prayed for peace, tranquillity and progress of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as for the well-being of the J&K Police and the local population.” “The police and CRPF teams deployed here are working very well with the local administration. The civil administration, including ambulance services and the Fire and Emergency Services, are also doing a good job,” he said, appreciating the efforts of personnel involved in ensuring the smooth conduct of the annual urs of Sheikh-ul-Aalam. During the visit, the IGP also interacted with the shrine management and reviewed the arrangements made for devotees visiting the shrine. The annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) popularly known as Sheikh-ul-Alam draws devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere, who gather at the shrine to offer prayers and pay their respects to the revered Sufi saint. IGP Felicitates Police Personnel in Budgam Later, IGP Sujit Kumar felicitated police personnel of District Budgam by distributing commendation certificates, appreciation letters and rewards in recognition of their work in effective policing. The event was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range, Rajiv Pandey. Among those recognised were SSP Budgam Hariprasad KK, SDPO Magam Ashrif Lissery, SHO Police Station Beerwah Mudassir Nassar, SHO Police Station Magam Khurshid Awan and 17 other police personnel. The team of Police Station Beerwah was recognised for its role in busting a fake employment syndicate, while Police Station Magam was appreciated for adopting the Digital Beat Policing System—(KNO)
