J&K Govt appoints 20 officers as revenue digitisation mentors | KNO

District mentors tasked with monitoring land record digitisation, resolving bottlenecks submitting monthly progress reports

Srinagar, Jun 10 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has nominated 20 senior officers as district mentors to monitor and supervise the digitisation of revenue records across all districts of the Union Territory. An order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) which is in possession of the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) states that the move aims to ensure timely completion of the digitisation process and strengthen monitoring of its implementation under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP). The officers, drawn from various departments, have been assigned one district each to oversee progress and facilitate resolution of issues affecting the digitisation exercise. Among those appointed are Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department Rajinder Singh Tara for Jammu district, Special Secretary, Power Development Department Sukhdev Singh Samyal for Samba, Director, Geology and Mining Pawan Kumar Sharma for Kathua and Labour Commissioner Charandeep Singh for Udhampur. Commissioner, Survey and Land Records Inderjeet has been assigned Rajouri district, while Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar Shavan will oversee Poonch. In Kashmir, Secretary in the Information Department Munir-ul-Islam has been assigned Srinagar, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani Ganderbal, Custodian General Tassaduq Hussain Mir Anantnag and Secretary, J&K BOPEE Shabir Hussain Keen Baramulla. The government order said the district mentors will monitor progress of digitisation of revenue records in their assigned districts and report on implementation. They have also been tasked with facilitating timely resolution of issues, ensuring digitisation activities are carried out as per prescribed guidelines and conducting random sample verification of digitised records. The mentors will escalate unresolved issues to the Revenue Department for intervention whenever required. The order further directs all designated officers to submit monthly reports to the Revenue Department by the seventh day of every succeeding month. The reports will include details of achievements, shortfalls and key issues requiring intervention under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme. The order said the initiative is intended to accelerate digitisation of land records, improve transparency in land administration and strengthen monitoring mechanisms across districts—(KNO)
