Sopore, Jul 19 (KNO): Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar on Saturday said that the government is hopeful for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to the reporters in Sopore, Dar, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), assured that Jammu and Kashmir will regain the statehood, reaffirming that the promise made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of the Parliament stands intact. He said that the statehood decision rests with the Centre; however, the local government remains hopeful that the transition will happen soon. Responding to a query regarding upgradation of roads and healthcare, the Minister stated, “For nearly 8-10 years, there was no public representative or popular government. On the Crop Insurance Scheme (CIS), he mentioned that the scheme will be executed by September–October this year. “Sopore is very important for us", he said while emphasising the town’s importance.
