Govt spends Rs 792.92 Cr under SSCL; says no plan for Phase-II yet | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has spent over Rs 792 crore on the execution of works under the Srinagar Smart City Project since 2018, the Housing and Urban Development Department has revealed. In a written reply to MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar’s query, as accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the department shared a year-wise breakup of expenditure, showing a steady rise in spending from Rs 8.86 crore in 2018–19 to Rs 265.08 crore projected for 2024–25. According to official data, Rs 91.80 crore was spent in 2022–23, Rs 247.02 crore in 2023–24, and Rs 78.98 crore is earmarked for 2025–26, taking the total to rupees 792.92 crore. However, the government clarified that no proposal for Srinagar Smart City Project Part-II is currently under consideration—(KNO)
