The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shahon Tuesday said New Delhi and its collaborators after failing to break our resolve are now trying to set stage for “war” between people and police of Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir police had on Sunday issued an advisory to its personnel to avoid visiting their hometowns “for the next few months”.

In a statement issued to press, Shah said the statement of J&K DGP SP Vaid and advisory to police personnel are part of a “well-devised conspiracy”.

Appealing the officers and personnel of J&K Police to reject such advisory, Shah said, “We’re part of the same society and related to each other. The mission for which the people of Kashmir are struggling is a national cause and we’re part of the same nation. We belong to the same soil, share same mosques and graveyards; our children read and learn together in schools and we have to live and die in the same society.”

Shah asked police personnel as to “how your conscience allows you to unleash a reign of terror among people, use force against students and implicate youth in false cases”.

“The police administration is hell bent on turning our peaceful struggle into an internal war but police personnel shouldn’t let themselves become cannon fodder in this conspiracy aimed at creating barriers between us,” he said.

Shah said like every other field, there are good and bad people in the police department too. “The personnel of SOG and Task Force should introspect that by waging war against own people will only make them more restless and depressed. You have a role to play after Azadi; so you need to introspect,” Shah said.

Meanwhile, on Shah’s directions, a party delegation comprising Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, and Aijaz Ahmad visited ‘Mazar-e-Shuhada’ (martyrs’ graveyard) to pay tributes to Shaheed S Hameed on his anniversary.
