Srinagar, May 28 (KNO): A team of volunteers cleared dozens of stranded vehicles at Chandaji Gurez-Bandipora Road, allowing them to safely ply toward their destinations after strong winds and heavy rain blocked traffic movement late last night. “A pine tree fell on the road near Chandaji Mode due to a strong wind and heavy rain the other day. By 4:30 PM, around 40 vehicles, including cars, trucks and two ambulances were stuck on both sides of the tree,” a team of volunteers said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The volunteers quickly gathered a team of eight members including Peerzada Mudasir, Lone Sajad, Javaid Khan, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Ishfaq Ahmad, Mohd Arif and Muzaffar Lone. By 11:00 PM, they reached the site with the necessary tools. After about 30 minutes of work, they removed the tree and reopened the road, allowing the stuck vehicles to move. The travellers, who had been stuck for almost seven hours, expressed their relief and thanks to the volunteers—(KNO)
