Vigilance awareness programme held for RDD, SWD | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNO): In connection with the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week-2024, two programmes were organized by ACB at Conference Hall of JLN Udyog Bhawan, Jammu for awareness regarding Rural Development Department in Morning session and regarding Social Welfare Department in the afternoon session. The programmes were also virtually attended by participants in other Districts i.e. Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Srinagar, Baramulla and Ganderbal, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). During the morning session, Subash Chander Gupta, District & Sessions Judge (Retd), was the Chief Guest and Shabir Ahmed Bhat Director RDD Kashmir was Guest of Honour. Arun Kumar Manhas, JKAS, Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu was special invitee on the occasion. Besides, officers/officials of the Department, PRIs, BDCs, DDCs, Contractors, members of the civil society and Media persons also participated. Vikas Gupta, DIG ACB and Sandeep Wazir AIG ACB also attended the event. The event started by playing a documentary on Corruption prepared by ACB followed by administration of the Pledge of Integrity for public servants and citizens separately. During the event, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was presented by Rakesh Kumar JKPS SSP ACB on behalf of Anti-Corruption Bureau wherein different kinds of complaints pertaining to Rural Development Department were also discussed through case studies. SSP ACB also stressed upon the loopholes in the departmental schemes. He also gave some suggestions for the improvement of the working of the department. Besides, initiatives taken by the ACB in curbing the menace of Corruption have also been discussed. Later on, a PowerPoint presentation was also presented by the resource person Phulail Singh, ACD Kishtwar, on behalf of the Rural Development Department, who threw light on different schemes of the department. He also discussed the shortcomings in the schemes as well as in the department and emphasised the use the latest technology for the implementation of the schemes. During the event, the participants’ feedback was also collected through a mobile App to gauge awareness levels and gather suggestions for enhancing Anti-corruption initiatives. The chief guest of the occasion Subash Chander Gupta while addressing to civil servants laid stress to work with utmost honesty and integrity. Guest of honour Shabir Ahmad Director RDD Kashmir reiterated to inculcate honesty in the system right from top to bottom. In the end special invitee Arun Kumar Manhas, Director Industries and commerce shared his valuable insights with the participants on the occasion and stressed upon the speedy resolution of genuine grievance and to inculcate the habit of listening to them. The second session of the day for the Social Welfare Department commenced with the Pledge of integrity. Suneet Gupta, District & Sessions Judge, (Retd) was the Chief Guest and Kishore Lal Sharma, Director Social Welfare/Poshan Department was Guest of honour. Vinod Kumar Behnal, Joint Director Mission Poshan, Jammu was Special Invitee. Besides, officers/officials of the Department, Tina Mahajan, CDPO was resource person on behalf of the social welfare Department. She discussed various new schemes under Poshan. Members of the civil society and Media persons actively participated in the event both in person and through virtual mode. During the event, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was presented by Rohit Gupta, CPO ACB wherein he discussed different schemes of the department. He emphasises on various modes of corruption through case studies. Chief Guest of the event Suneet Gupta requested to increase pensions of the widows and destitutes in order to help them to meet their ends. Guest of honour, Kishore Lal Sharma highlighted various schemes related to the social welfare department. Through the medium of this program the general public was also requested to come forward in order to curb the menace of corruption. The whatsapp and helpline numbers were also conveyed to the participants for making any complaint to ACB. The program was concluded with vote of thanks by Imran Malik Dy.SP ACB—(KNO)
