New Delhi/Srinagar, June 7 (KNO): Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly Sunil Sharma on Sunday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed the security situation, developmental works and overall political scenario in Jammu & Kashmir.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the meeting focused on various issues concerning the Union Territory, including security, law and order, development initiatives and the prevailing political situation.
During the discussion, Sunil Sharma apprised the Union Home Minister of issues emerging from the ground and highlighted the aspirations of the people for peace, progress and effective governance.
The statement said both leaders also reviewed the Government of India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security, promote inclusive development and deepen democratic institutions at the grassroots level. They stressed the need to consolidate the gains achieved in recent years and ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society.
It added that Amit Shah assured full support from the Centre for lasting peace, stronger security and accelerated development in Jammu & Kashmir.
Sunil Sharma, according to the statement, reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s commitment towards safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and working for peace, prosperity and progress in the Union Territory.
The meeting reflects the BJP leadership’s continued focus on security, development and addressing public concerns in Jammu & Kashmir.—(KNO)
