Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNO): Amid the month of Ramadan, Kashmir’s streets come alive with a unique tradition—Street Iftar, where locals set up roadside arrangements to help people break their fast. This growing practice is fostering a sense of unity and kindness across the Valley. As per the details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in bustling markets, mosques, and busy streets, volunteers distribute dates, fruits, and drinks to fasting pedestrians, shopkeepers, and travelers. Many of these community-driven Iftaars are arranged by local youth, NGOs, and charitable organizations. “It is heartwarming to see people offering special meals at the time of Iftaar to pedestrians and residents alike. We should come forward and support such a noble cause,” said Firdous, a local resident. Notably, in Srinagar, at multiple locations and in the busiest areas, people organize daily Iftaar for commuters. “This is our way of giving back. Many people are away from home at Iftaar time, and we don’t want them to break their fast alone,” said one of the organizers. Another local from Khanyar shared, they see it as an act of kindness and a blessing of Ramadan. Similarly, with Ramadan in full swing, Street Iftiyar continues to bring people together, reinforcing the Valley’s deep-rooted tradition of hospitality and communal harmony—(KNO)
