Srinagar, May 09 (KNO): Asserting that youth hold the key to shape up Srinagar’s future, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr G.V. Sandeep Chakravarthy on Saturday said that sports play a vital role in shaping the character of youth, and games like cricket teach fighting spirit, discipline and teamwork Speaking at T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Srinagar Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) here, SSP Chakravarthy, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), congratulated all participating teams and appreciated the enthusiasm shown by players during the tournament, saying such sporting events provide a constructive platform for youth and help channelise their energy in a positive direction. “Games like cricket teach us fighting spirit and teamwork. Srinagar’s real future lies with its youth. Such tournaments are not only about winning or losing, but about learning discipline, unity and determination,” the SSP Srinagar said. He urged youngsters to continue the momentum created through sports and spread a positive message in society, especially against the growing menace of drug abuse. “Our youth should become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and take this message to every locality and every household. Community participation and youth engagement are essential for building a healthier and drug-free society,” he said. Dr. Chakravarthy further said Srinagar Police will continue to organise sports and community-based programmes aimed at engaging youth and strengthening trust between police and the public—(KNO)
