Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that there is no proposal under consideration at present for the establishment of a Mini Secretariat in Beerwah.
The information was provided by the Revenue Department in response to a question raised by Beerwah MLA Shafi Ahmad Wani regarding the establishment of a Mini Secretariat in the area.
The department, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that during a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister on September 8, 2026, all Deputy Commissioners were directed to assess the requirement for Mini Secretariat complexes in their respective districts and submit requisite proposals/DPRs, along with relevant documents, through the Financial Commissioner (Revenue), J&K.
Regarding the Sub-Registrar Office, Beerwah, the government said the post was sanctioned through Revenue Department Notification No. 02 dated January 31, 2019, read with Government Order No. 117-JK (Rev) of 2019 dated October 24, 2019.
The government said the charge of Sub-Registrar, Beerwah, was earlier held by the SDM Beerwah. However, through Government Order No. 1463-JK (GAD) of 2026 dated September 1, 2026, an officer has now been posted as Sub-Registrar, Beerwah, in substantive capacity.
The department added that the office is presently functioning through the manpower of the SDM Office, Beerwah, while alternative accommodation and arrangements for lower staff are being pursued—(KNO)
