Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNO): The budget session of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly will resume on Friday, with the approval of the budget on its agenda for the day. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the House will reassemble tomorrow after a gap of more than one month to take up pending legislative business, especially Appropriation Bills, Government Bills, Private Member Bills, and Private Member Resolutions. As per the business schedule issued by the Assembly Secretariat for tomorrow, the House will take up three Appropriation Bills to be introduced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds the Finance portfolio. The bills have also been listed for consideration and passage. The passage of these bills will mark the culmination of the budgetary process in Jammu & Kashmir, which began with the presentation of the budget by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 6. During the last seven sittings, all eyes will be on the government bills. The Government is expected to table several important bills during the session. The House will also take up Private Member Bills and Private Member Resolutions. As many as 72 Private Member Bills are expected to be listed for introduction, while 14 resolutions have been selected through a draw of lots to be taken up in the House. As per the list of business scheduled for tomorrow, the House will also hold a short discussion on fake news and misinformation, which have serious implications for governance, public accountability, social harmony, cyber security, and democratic functioning—(KNO)
