GMC Jammu treats over 500 patients daily | KNO

Srinagar, Jul 23 (KNO): The Government Medical College Jammu continues to witness a heavy rush of patients as over 500 patients are being treated in the emergency department on a daily basis. As per the details available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), on average 534 patients were treated in the emergency of GMC Jammu and 148 patients were admitted while as 69 minor and major surgeries were conducted in June 2025. Details also reveal that 4933 lab tests are being conducted on daily basis in the emergency while on an average 76 CT scans, 196 USG, 292 X-rays and 254 ECGs are being conducted on daily basis. Details also reveal that 29 patients are being referred on an average to the hospital from other hospitals of the division with the majority of them Rajouri. Details further reveal that 263 patients on average were registered in the Medicine department of GMC Jammu, 133 in Surgery, 92 in orthopedics, 28 in Ophthalmology and 19 in anti-rabies department—(KNO)
