CS reviews preparations for Republic Day celebrations | KNO

Jammu, Dec 26 (KNO): Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo Thursday held a meeting of top civil administration and police officers to take stock of the preparations made for celebrating the upcoming Republic Day, 2025 here in the UT. The Chief Secretary took this occasion to impress upon the concerned divisional administration to take necessary steps to encourage people to participate in this national event. He asked for creating celebratory aura through out J&K especially in the twin cities of Jammu and Srinagar. Dulloo took this occasion to direct the administration to illuminate all the landmark sites and prominent government buildings. He also stressed on ensuring plausible transport and seating arrangements for the school children. The Chief Secretary further instructed for making adequate arrangements for parking of vehicles besides ensuring smooth movement of traffic on roads. He took note of the kind of security arrangements required to be put in place for ensuring smooth conduct of this significant event. During this meeting he keenly enquired about the cultural segments to be presented during the program. He asked for giving opportunity to the school children and the specially abled students of the UT. He also encouraged the Departments of Culture to make a tableaux on cultural diversity of J&K, PDD on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Police on Drug Abuse, Health on TB Mukt J&K and YS&S on Fit India Movement. In addition the Information Department was obligated to ensure live telecast of the main functions from the regional units of Doordarshan and All India Radio besides facilitating the media persons in carrying out their professional assignments. The other agenda items which came up for discussion during this meeting includes the uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation of the venues besides the accomplishment of other civil works taken up by the R&B Department to ready the venues at both Jammu and Srinagar—(KNO)
