Srinagar, Sept 28 (KNO): Amid continued uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday, Congress MLAs raised slogans of “Vote Chor” and “Ghadi Chhodo” as BJP legislators protested against the statehood resolution moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), BJP members raised slogans opposing the wording of the resolution, particularly references to autonomy and the pre-1953 position.
Meanwhile, Congress MLAs displayed banners and posters inside the House and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Congress MLA Irfan Hafeez was seen repeatedly raising the slogans “Vote Chor” and “Ghadi Chhodo” as BJP legislators continued their protest over the resolution. The protests by both sides led to repeated disruptions of proceedings in the House, with members raising slogans amid the ongoing debate on the statehood resolution.—(KNO)
