Srinagar, Oct 22 (KNO): The Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (Sub Judge), Jammu, has issued summons to BCCI president Mithun Manhas and several other officials and media persons to appear in the court in connection with a complaint filed by retired Dy SP Sudershan Mehta.
The complaint, as per the court order has been filed under Sections 356, 45, and 61 of the BNS Act against Manhas, members of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), and some media persons.
The court notice, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), issued on October 18, directs the ‘accused’ to appear in person or through legal representatives on November 24, 2025.
The list of accused includes Mithun Manhas, Anil Gupta (Retd Brig, Member Administration, JKCA), Majid Dar (Assistant Member, JKCA), and editors of The Northlines, The Kashmir Horizon, Brighter Kashmir, and The Indian News Service.
As per the court order no cognizance can be taken without hearing the proposed accused and instructs that copies of the complaint and annexures be sent via registered post.
