Srinagar, Feb 13 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday said that eight health centers are functional in Hazratbal constituency.
Replying to a question of MLA Salman Sagar, Health and Medical Education Department Minister Sakina Itoo, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the healthcare facilities falling in Hazratbal constituency are: Govt SDH Hospital Hazratbal, UPHC Tailbal, NTPHC Faqir Gujree, Sub Center Shanpora, NTPHC Dara, NTPHC Kashipora, Sub Centre Syedpora and NTPHC Darbagh.
"These healthcare institutions provide a comprehensive range of services, including General OPD, IPD, Emergency Services, Gynecology OPD, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening, Immunization services, Public Health Dentistry, Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) services, Maternal Health services, High-end Sonography, Laboratory Diagnostic services, Public Outreach services, Digital X-Ray facilities, Minor Operation Theatre services, AYUSH services, Jan Aushadhi Store facilities, and services under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), at present, no proposals for up-gradation or opening of new health institutions are under consideration. Such proposals shall be examined only after the austerity measures imposed vide Government Order No. 10-F of 2025 dated 11.01.2025 are revisited by the Finance Department, and after assessment of critical gaps, if any, as per IPHS norms," she said.
The Minister said that to address the staff shortage the department has taken many steps, like 480 posts of Medical Officers have been forwarded to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission for advertisement and selection, 292 non-gazetted/paramedical vacancies pertaining to the Directorate of Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Health (MCH), and Immunization have been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board advertised.
Two hundred ninety non-gazetted/paramedical vacancies of the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu have also been referred to JKSSB for recruitment and stand advertised. As many as 608 posts of the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu and 802 non-gazetted posts, including MTS and Sanitation Worker posts pertaining to the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, are in the process of referral to JKSSB for recruitment after obtaining concurrence of the Finance Department.
"Further, under the Free Drug Policy, Block Hazratbal provides 108 essential medicines free of cost to the general public. In addition, OPD registration and laboratory diagnostic services are also being provided to the public," she said—(KNO)
