2 drug peddlers arrested in Sopore: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNO): To eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Sopore have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession. A Police party of Police Station Sopore and Police Post Bus Stand headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Neharpora Sopore intercepted 02 suspicious persons, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah @Bedana son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah and Nasir Yousuf Shah @Bada Anta son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah, both the residents of Neharpora Sopore. During search, officers were able to recover 264 capsules of banned drug (SpasmoProxyvon Plus) from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody, police said. Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 243/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated. “General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law,” police said—(KNO)
