Srinagar, Feb 16 (KNO): As part of move aimed at reviving tourism and reinforcing public confidence, the administration on Monday announced the reopening of 14 tourist destinations across the Kashmir and Jammu divisions following a comprehensive security review. According to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, a post from his office on X, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that the tourist sites, which had been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure, will reopen with immediate effect. “After a thorough security review and discussion, I've ordered reopening of more tourist spots in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, which were temporarily closed as precautionary measures,” the tweet from office of LG reads. It reads, “the 11 tourist spots in Kashmir Division- Yousmarg, Doodhpathri in Budgam, Dandipora Park in Kokernag, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan & Padpawan in Shopian, Astanpora, Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Thajwas Glacier, Hung Park in Ganderbal & Wullar/ Watlab in Baramulla to be reopened immediately.” “3 tourist spots in Jammu Division- Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar to be reopened immediately. 3 sites in Kashmir Division- Gurez, Athwatoo, Bangus and 1 site in Jammu Division- Ramkund in Ramban will be reopened once snow gets cleared,” the tweet reads further. It is important to mention that the reopening of these destinations will boost tourism and these destinations are expected to attract a large number of visitors.—(KNO)
