Srinagar, Nov 06 (KNO): The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Assembly and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sunil Sharma on Wednesday said that the resolution passed in the assembly has no constitutional validity as it has no powers to challenge the decision taken in the parliament, which was also acknowledged by the top court of India. Addressing a news conference, Sharma, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the discussion on Lieutenant Governor’s speech was scheduled today in which the government would have been asked about their promises of 200 free electricity units, 12 gas cylinders, one lakh jobs and other things, but the resolution was moved this morning about the decision, which was taken by the parliament and also acknowledged by the Supreme Court’s (SC) constitutional bench also. “Even we were not told about the resolution He added that these resolutions have no constitutional validity. “When the parliament has taken a decision and was simultaneously settled by the Supreme Court. What powers the assembly has to pass a resolution against it for which we have protested and opposed,” he said, adding that the BJP is opposing the resolution tooth and nail. Furthermore, he asked the Congress to clear its stand whether the party and its six MLAs endorse the resolution passed today. “The top leadership of Congress in New Delhi including Rahul Gandhi and Malikkarjun Kharge should come clear. If the party is against the resolution then it can’t be passed due to the support of a minority of members of the house,” he added. Sharma also added that the proceedings in the house will not be allowed till the resolution is not taken back. He also said that the NC should also come clear whether the resolution was passed for the Union Territory or State. “The party has not qualified the Class 5th but is seeking the certificate for class 10th,” he said, adding that if the NC is adopting the line of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah about statehood then the party welcomes them. Sharma said that the party is confused as there is a race between some of the parties to take a lead in misleading the people and pushing the youth to the streets again. He also targeted the National Conference (NC) for doing politics on the blood of civilians, saying that “let us debate how many people have been killed during their role and ours.”—(KNO)
